Shehori Brothers's Comedian Bio
|
| Bio | THE SHEHORI BROTHERS: Daniel and Steven Shehori are an award-winning young comedy duo based out of Toronto. They are quite possibly the busiest siblings working on the Canadian comedy scene today. Between them, the brothers have garnered 14 Canadian Comedy Award nominations (and one win!) as writers, directors and producers. They’ve spent several years as head comedy writers for the internationally renowned show Naked News TV, and were co-creators and producers of the Second City Toronto's Shehori Brothers' Character Night – the longest running show in the history of the organization. Working alongside the creators of the hit Tony Award-winning Broadway musical The Drowsy Chaperone, the Shehori Brothers co-produced the critically acclaimed production An Awkward Evening with Martin & Johnson, which went on to be nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award.
More recently, the brothers were head writers of the 2006 Gemini Awards (Canada’s version of The Emmys). That same year, they co-wrote and produced the hit one-man comedy show Swiss Family Guy Robinson, which played to rave reviews and sold-out houses in Canada and the U.S (including memorable slots on Entertainment Tonight and the 2006 Canadian Comedy Awards).
In the summer of 2007, the brothers served as writers, directors and creative consultant for the critically raved-about 60th Second City revue Facebook of Revelations, which has been praised by several media outlets as being the best Second City show in over a decade. It also became the most profitable Second City Toronto show of all time.
Between them, the Shehori Brothers have made memorable personal appearances as actors and pop culture pundits on the Comedy Network's Punched Up and Cream of Comedy, MuchMusic’s Video on Trial and Stars Gone Wild, and MuchMoreMusic’s Listed.
